Altrincham On Your Doorstep

Altrincham. A name recognised by so many, particularly as it was recently crowned the UK’s ‘Best Place to Live’ by the Sunday Times.

Altrincham is a town that boasts an array of fantastic amenities, first-class food and drink and a community like no other. The recent restoration of the Town’s Grade 2 Listed former Market Hall has been a key contributor to Altrincham’s revival. 

The Market House is a perfect place for families, where children can enjoy themselves whilst adults soak up the live music and incredible array of artisan food and drink on offer. Just next to the Market House is the traditional Altrincham Market which features stallholders selling a variety of crafts and collectables, as well as fresh fish and vegetables.

Altrincham boasts two cinemas including the internationally recognised Everyman Cinema and there are plenty of shops located along George Street featuring many well-known British brands.

Hale & Bowdon A Short Walk

Within a 10 minute stroll from Alderbank are the leafy yet lively villages of Hale and Bowdon. Characteristically different to Altrincham, but equally pleasing places to spend time with family and friends during an afternoon or a weekend.

Hale Village is an upmarket village that offers a wide variety of bars and restaurants. It also has a host of boutique and village shops, a post office and local convenience stores.

Bowdon Village is a charming village steeped with history; a very pleasant place to have a morning stroll whilst exploring the beautiful heritage buildings and monuments. Bowdon also has a brilliant selection of public spaces and sports clubs to enjoy. A perfect reason to dust off your tennis racquet or cricket bat!

Altrincham Interchange

Just a short walk from Alderbank is the Altrincham Interchange; a multi-model transport hub that connects Altrincham to Greater Manchester, Manchester Airport and the North West via train, Metrolink tram or bus.

Residents at Alderbank can arrive in Manchester City Centre within 35 minutes of leaving their front door. The walk to the interchange is less than 10 minutes down Altrincham high street (A538), Metrolink tram services between the City and Altrincham are as frequent as every 6 minutes on Platform 1 and 2, and the total journey time is just over 25 minutes.

Platforms 3 and 4 are for travel by train where journey makers can access notable fringe towns such as Chester and Warrington.

Schools The Region’s Finest

Altrincham came top of a Sunday Times list of the best places to live in the country for schools. The report highlights the glowing Ofsted report which proclaimed every secondary pupil in the town goes to either a good or outstanding school. The good news also applies to primary schools in the area where 90 per cent of Trafford’s primary pupils attend good or outstanding schools.

No other region in the North West made the Sunday Times ‘Top 10’ chart, making it officially the most desirable place in the region to give your school goers the best start in their education.

Dunham Massey The Countryside

Alderbank is close to an array of charming rural beauty spots, including the grand Dunham Massey estate, splendid Tatton Park, and the countryside of the Lake District, Peak District and North Wales.

Visitors to Dunham Massey and Tatton Park will have the opportunity to spot the famous red and fallow deer that have roamed the parklands for centuries, much like the handsome chap pictured above!

Manchester Airport

Alderbank is exceptionally located to benefit from international travel. Getting to Manchester Airport is just a short tram or car journey; within a 10 minute car journey you can be connected to over 200 worldwide destinations.

Manchester The City

Manchester is celebrated for its iconic style and impressive retail offering. If you are one to appreciate fashion, or just looking for some retail therapy, Manchester is the ideal place to spend your weekend. 

Major retailers such as Harvey Nichols and Selfridges can be found in the city centre, alongside boutique retailers dotted throughout the city. Places such as the Northern Quarter and the Barton Arcade are home to some of the city’s best independent shops and cafes that are most certainly worth exploring. The city has someting to offer for everyone.

Furthermore Manchester also has an excellent reputation for its restaurants scene. There are a plethora of places to indulge yourself; whether you wish to experience some fine dining at one of the nine Michelin Guide restaurants – in particular the Michelin-Starred, Mana in Ancoats – or some of the more bohemian offerings such as Escape To Freight Island, Albert’s Schloss and Mackie Mayor, sister to Altrincham’s own Markethall.
